Senior Sales Engineer at SELECT

Salary: $150K - $200K (CAD) | Equity: 0.1% - 1% | Full-time | Remote (Canada)

About the role

SELECT is hiring our first Sales Engineering role to help scale sales, support and customer success for our growing user base. We’re looking for strong technical generalists with prior Sales Engineering experience who are ready to join a fast-growing startup and wear a variety of different hats.

Example tasks

Here is a sample of the kind of work you'd be doing:

  • Help our customers onboard onto SELECT and take advantage of all the platform has to offer
  • Help troubleshoot, investigate and remediate customer and/or product support issues
  • Run regular Snowflake health checks for our larger customers
  • Help develop and maintain the dbt models that power SELECT's data backend
  • Build new tools we can use for prospective customers
  • Help the engineering team scope & build more integrations with tools that run on top of Snowflake (Sigma, Tableau, Thoughtspot)
  • Take early sales calls with customers and perform end-to-end demos of the SELECT platform
  • Write content for our blog and LinkedIn
  • Help plan, organize and participate in educational webinars about Snowflake and other cloud data technologies
  • Help improve, automate and scale our various sales and other operational processes

The ideal candidate is/has

  • Based in Canada
  • Worked in Sales Engineering / Solutions Architecture roles at related technology companies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to simplify and explain complex concepts to less technical customers
  • Significant experience working with SQL and Snowflake
  • Basic fluency in Python
  • A desire to actively contribute to the development of our product

Nice to have

  • Experience with software development and willingness to learn and contribute
  • Experience with the problems we're solving (FinOps and cloud infrastructure cost management)
  • Experience working in an early-stage startup environment

  • The process is fully remote and all communication will happen over email or via video chat. Once you've submitted your application, the team will review your submission, and may reach out for a short screening interview over video call.
  • If you pass the screen you will be invited up to two follow-up interviews along with a technical exercise.
  • We aim to screen, interview, make a decision, send and finalize an offer within 2 weeks of application.
