You can already connect SELECT to Looker, Mode, Hex or Periscope, but we were still missing one of the major BI tools out there.
We are very excited announce our new Tableau integration. Connecting your Tableau environment to SELECT will bring metadata about your Tableau workbooks, data sources and users to your SELECT account and have them integrated with the features you are already familiar with, such Lineage, Search, and Monitors.
Another useful feature is being able to attribute Snowflake query cost back to Tableau resources. When Tableau triggers a query on Snowflake, it adds metadata about the workbook that issued the query, which is now also parsed by SELECT. This is currently only available for “live” workbooks, as Tableau does not include the necessary metadata workbooks using “extracts”.
Finally, for Tableau Cloud users, SELECT will also fetch data about workbooks popularity (how often they are used and by which Tableau users).
The Tableau integration is currently in limited beta. Please contact our support team if you would like to be added to this beta in November when we open up more spots.
