Query your cost data from the SELECT API

In our continuing effort to make SELECT usable completely via API, today we're releasing all of our metrics routes! These routes power all the charts, tables and other features of the SELECT app today, and can now be used directly by you (or your agents). Pull daily spend into your own reporting, rank dbt models by cost in CI, or give an agent a direct line to your Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery bill.

There are 67 new public routes across, whatever you're use case is it's likely the data you need is available. Feel free to reach out to the SELECT team if you need help determining how the API can suite your needs.

These metrics routes need the Usage Data: Read scope (usage_data:read). A key without it gets a 403.

  • Full access keys already have it. Full access includes every scope we add later.
  • Every other key needs the scope added. Go to Settings → API Keys, edit the key, and select Read on Usage Data. Or create a new key: the Read-only preset now includes it.

Today API keys also have organization-wide access, and aren't scoped to a particular team, usage group, or account. If scoped API keys is a feature you need, please reach out!

Check out our updated docs and grab an API key to get started yourself.
