SELECT for BigQuery is now in Private Preview. Request early access or reach out to your DoiT account manager to get started.

Starting today, teams running BigQuery can connect their organization to SELECT and be up and running in about 20 minutes. The connection is fully read-only and scoped so SELECT only ever sees your billing and metadata — never your actual data.

We've been building SELECT for BigQuery hand-in-hand with our Early Access customers. Here's what's live today, what's coming next, and how to join.

Savings & Insights

SELECT automatically scans your BigQuery environment and surfaces where you're overspending, each with an estimated annual saving and effort level. BigQuery-specific insights include failing workloads that quietly waste compute, autoscaling reservations that haven't opted into fluid scaling, and query patterns that could be incrementalized to process only new or changed data. Everything is quantified so you know what to tackle first.

Cost Visibility

See your BigQuery spend broken down by project, user, job, and query, with storage costs across your whole organization. SELECT understands your pricing model — on-demand and reservations, including capacity commitments and committed use discounts (CUDs).

Reservations Manager

See every reservation in one place — baseline, autoscale, and max slots, reservation vs. on-demand spend, cost, and utilization per reservation. Drill into any reservation for slot usage broken down by project and your top consumers, so you can see exactly what's driving slot demand across your org.

Getting Started

Connect your BigQuery organization at select.dev. Setup takes roughly 20 minutes and needs only read-only access to your billing metadata — no access to your company's data. SELECT backfills historical data on connect, and works whether you're billed directly by Google or through DoiT as your reseller. Full setup guide here.

Coming next

  • Reservation utilization metrics — spot over- and under-provisioned reservations and right-size them
  • Storage insights (coming soon) — see which datasets would save money on physical storage billing instead of logical
  • Actions (currently in Preview) — log the changes you make and let SELECT track your realized BigQuery savings

Joining Early Access

As an Early Access customer, you'll get:

  • Weekly calls with the product team to share feedback and get hands-on help
  • Dedicated feature walkthroughs
  • A direct hand in shaping the BigQuery roadmap
