Staying on top of your Snowflake environment is challenging. With thousands of active users, new workloads being added each day, and complex data pipelines, it’s difficult for platform teams to stay on top of everything going on in their account.
To help users get better visibility into key changes in their Snowflake account, we’ve rebuilt our monitors experience from the ground up.
On the new monitors overview page, you’ll now be able to:
- Get better visibility into all the monitors you’ve created.
- Easily see which monitors are consistently being triggered and deserve attention.
We’ve also built a new experience for creating monitors that give you more control over what you get alerted on.
- Pick a data source and how you want to get alerted
- Apply custom filters to focus on the exact resources you care about
- Optionally configure your output message to include a chart, table or specific lookback periods
- Preview your Monitor in the UI and send a full test message to your destination of choice
We’re excited about the new capabilities this will unlock, and will be rolling them out to SELECT users over the coming week.
In future releases, we’ll be adding a number of new capabilities:
- Receive recommendations on monitors you should create
- Send monitors from more data sources (users, workloads, dbt models, etc.)
- Get alerted based on automated anomaly detection rather than specifying a threshold
- Get alerted based on other metrics like workload performance, dbt run duration, warehouse queuing, and more
