> Connect Select Copilot to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and other AI tools using the Model Context Protocol.

## Feature overview

Connect [Select Copilot](https://select.dev/docs/reference/using-select/copilot/copilot-overview) to your favourite AI tools — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and more — using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Ask the same questions you'd ask Copilot in the SELECT app or in Slack, but right from your terminal, editor, or chat client.

## Install

### CoCo CLI

Add this to `~/.snowflake/cortex/mcp.json` (create the file if it doesn't exist):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "select-mcp": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
      "oauth": {
        "client_id": "NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky",
        "client_name": "Cortex Code",
        "redirect_port": 3333
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http \
  --client-id NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky \
  --callback-port 3333 \
  select-mcp https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1
```

### Cursor

Add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (create the file if it doesn't exist):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "select-mcp": {
      "url": "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
      "auth": {
        "CLIENT_ID": "NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky",
        "scopes": ["openid", "profile", "email", "mcp:tools"]
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Codex CLI

Codex doesn't yet support fixed-client OAuth for remote HTTP MCP servers, so the connection is wrapped through `mcp-remote` (requires Node.js). Add this to `~/.codex/config.toml`:

```toml
[mcp_servers.select-mcp]
command = "npx"
args = [
  "-y",
  "mcp-remote@0.1.37",
  "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
  "3333",
  "--host",
  "localhost",
  "--static-oauth-client-info",
  "{\"client_id\":\"NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky\",\"token_endpoint_auth_method\":\"none\"}",
  "--static-oauth-client-metadata",
  "{\"scope\":\"mcp:tools\"}",
  "--resource",
  "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
  "--transport",
  "http-only"
]
```

### VS Code

Add this to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your workspace (create the file if it doesn't exist):

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "select-mcp": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": [
        "-y",
        "mcp-remote@0.1.37",
        "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
        "3333",
        "--host",
        "localhost",
        "--static-oauth-client-info",
        "{\"client_id\":\"NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky\",\"token_endpoint_auth_method\":\"none\"}",
        "--static-oauth-client-metadata",
        "{\"scope\":\"mcp:tools\"}",
        "--resource",
        "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
        "--transport",
        "http-only"
      ]
    }
  }
}
```

### CoCo Desktop

Add this to `~/.snowflake/cortex/mcp.json` (create the file if it doesn't exist):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "select-mcp": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1",
      "oauth": {
        "client_id": "NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky",
        "client_name": "Cortex Code",
        "redirect_port": 33148
      }
    }
  }
}
```

After adding the entry to your mcp.json file, open CoCo Desktop and go to Settings > MCP Settings > find the select-mcp entry. Ensure it is turned on, and click connect. A browser window will open for you to sign into SELECT. After that you're good to go.

### Other clients

Any MCP client that supports remote HTTP servers can connect. Use these settings:

- **URL:** `https://api.select.dev/mcp/v1`
- **Client ID:** `NGqfslunrY4oHlVx392FvuFGLVuiG1ky`
- **Callback port:** `3333`

## Signing in

The first time you use Copilot from your client, a browser window will open for you to sign in to SELECT. After that you're good to go.
